Who is Rodrigo?
I am a software developer from Brazil living in Dublin with focus on the frontend.
My first contact with programming was with Flash. I used to look for flash animations and games online, and one day I found a game that was actually a tutorial on how to make games. I used to think that programming was this incredibly boring thing, but when I gave it a shot, I actually liked it a lot. That is when I decided to go to college to study computer science.
I was introduced to languages like C++, C, assembly and Java in college. This taught me how things work under the hood and how to write fast programs, but not how to write programs fast. To compensate, I started to learn high level and JavaScript was the one that appealed to me the most.
After graduation, I decided to work with the front-end. JavaScript has its problems, but It is a high-level language that allows me to easily create software with an interface. It appeals to things that got me into programming in the first place. And now with node.js, I can also use it for the backend. It allows me to easily create something that everybody can use.
